Jazz Education

Education
One of the Jazz Workshop's unique features is its teaching staff. All are professional musicians who give the necessary resolve to each student.  Alto Saxophonist Hosea Gonzales toured professionally for many years.  Kenny Fisher has instructed with the Jazz Workshop for twenty years.  Students have an opportunity to watch them and other teachers perform during jam sessions at the library, following Saturday classes, and during monthly Jazz Workshop events.

Music instruction is on a one to one basis.  All students are required to participate in theory classes.  There is a fee of $65.00 per program year.  Scholarships are also available.  Classes are scheduled on a first come first served basis and there is a sign in sheet.  In most cases, students have their own instruments.  If not, the Jazz Workshop will assist in securing one.  The Jazz Workshop, Inc. also accepts donations of used musical instruments and donors can receive a tax-deduction.

Classes occur every Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Carnegie Library - Homewood.
